Fionnuala O'Connell

I am a Limerick born artist living in Co Clare.  I work mainly in oil and acrylic and use both palette knives and brushes to generate energy and atmosphere.  Many of my paintings are representational but I enjoy the world of abstracts looking to texture and colour to represent shapes, atmosphere, movement and beauty of nature. Inspiration comes from many summers spent in West Clare where I have always been fascinated by the power of the sea, the ruggedness of the rock formations and the changing colours of landscape.  My work can be seen in the Inis Artists permanent exhibition in Shannon Town Centre.  I exhibit widely with both Inis Artists and Art Limerick.
