These are some of the paintings on show in the corridors of University Hospital Limerick at the moment. There are about 25 of them, each one depicting the same scene of Union Quay, Co. Cork by different artists. Some very different mediums have been used ranging from pencil to acrylic, oils and even felt and ceramic. My favourite is an amazing painting by the great Irish Artist, Robert Ballagh. It's great to see each artists' own individual interpretation of the view that was to be painted.
It is well worth a trip out to the hospital to have a look, and sit and have a coffee in the corridor, watch everyone rushing around....and thank God that you are there on a social visit!
