Jim Hartigan started painting from a young age. He was enormously
impressed with the work of Constable because of its realism and structure. In the earlier days, he did watercolours, etchings and impressions. He is basically self-taught and availed of early tutorship from Thomas Ryan RHA and Derry Hedderman.
He turned to oils in the last 10 years and has built up an impressive portfolio of landscapes, pastoral scenes and, more recently, very striking portraits. He draws on his architectural experience to inject perspective and realism into his paintings.
Jim has partaken in many exhibitions, indoor and outdoor, and is available for commissions. He can be contacted as per the contact details.
